More river flyfishing for bass

I met Fishface for some evening smallmouth bass seeking. there were lots of fish feeding on flies on top as they drifted by. I put on what looks like a drowned mayfly and got lots for action with smaller fish...





FF walked out further and got a few nicer bass

this pic looks weird, it has small mouth bass colors, a mouth like a largemouth, and walleye eyes!


MT long arms the big one!, this was pure luck as I was just sitting and resting, I had casted out a popper, but it was so dark i couldn't see, when I went to pull it up, it felt heavy, I thought it was hung up, but then it started jumping! Whooo hoooo!

Finally got out for some fishin'

I got out for a while saturday afternoon with fishface for some bass bug action on the river.

Clearwater bass and panfish

Me and Jack had some good fishing Saturday on Clearwater lake for panfish and bass.
our best action was around the deeper side of grass beds in 6 to 12 ft on small jigs with various plastic baits.

Jack expertly plays a nice largemouth bass, and removes the hook, only to fumble before we can get the picture! I don't know, was this really a fish? I think it was just a log! :)

I had a great time fishing and eating today. What a great group of sportsmen that really enjoy the outdoors! They are also helping the GEM kids be getting lots of fishing gear to donate! Thanks guys! I got all the pics up HERE

Day 4-5

We were going to stay for 6 days, but A big ol bear came into the camp and ate all the food while we were out fishing!
Some of the guys went back to try to scare it away, but it was acting really agressive, so we gave up and let him chow down while we backed up and headed for a new campsite.
I wish I could have seen all the action and got some pics, this thing was HUGE, I saw its head through the trees later ...



Another perfect morning








A looney friend. This was the only loon on the trip we saw, kind of weird not hearing loons up there all week. we did hear some wolves howl though.
this loon actually helped us find walleyes. we kept seeing him catch minnows out on a rocky reef. we went and cast where the minnows were and got lots of walleyes!



At the new campsite after escaping the hungry bear, now we are hungry bears hoping for another walleye dinner!


the fish did not let us down!









The last Morning! Dave woke me up early so I could see a great sunrise, here is the view from my tent!


I went outside and took more pics as the sunrise continued, got bit by skeeters, but it was worth it!
