Back online! bass touney 7-26

Back on the bucket ! I had a great time at the BWCA last week. full reports and pics coming soon!
Fishing for life and fishers of men tounament trail put on their annual contest this year on lake Marion in lakeville MN. John Cummins from fishers of men (club) invited me to fish with him for the day.
We also had a young fisher, Evan, who really was doing good and should have got lots more, but fishing was so slow for us. we got a few smaller fish on plastic worms deeper, nothing was going in the shallows or in the slop at all.
Some people did get into the big bass though, some over 6 pounds were weighed in.
No suprise to me, I got my biggest bass ever in this lake around 8 years ago!

BWCA this week!

I am hitting the wilderness sunday through friday, hopefully I will get lots of great pictures to share, but anyhow, I will be gone til friday! :)

Fly fisher

I met Jim Bonin to fling a few flies at some smallies in monticello. Jim got some nice bass on topwater bugs.
No bass for me, but got some excellent shots of Jim in the river with great sky color!

Fishers of men club outing

I was suppose to fish with Dave Maas, the bass pundit But he was not feeling well and decided hed better stay home, so I was invited to fish with another club member Gary Ellis. I had a good time, Gary is a good angler and has a really nice boat too, but just getting to know him a bit was the best part. we had interesting discussions ranging from upcoming fishing trips to Cancer.
It really was a blessing to get to fish with him today!
As for the fishing, it was ok, I got no pike or muskies, pulled in a few ok sized largemouth bass on atopwater snagproof frog, Gary got the nice 30 inch pike on a spinnerbait.

Mississippi pics minneapolis

Me and Jack hit the river july fourth, going up through Lock and Dam #1. We did alot of fishing around various bridge bases getting lots of crappies and a few bass.
Then I talked him into going for a ride up to the st. anthony falls lock and dam so I could get a few pics.

We spent the day on the river Saturday, got a few fish.
Pan fish bass and a few pike were in the shallows.
